Server Upgrade for Woods Business Services
Woods Business Services supply office stationery, furniture and machines, IT consumables, promotional gifts and print and design services to businesses throughout the UK. They operate from their office in Chippenham, where we carried out a server upgrade to help them run more efficiently.
Well maintained systems are essential for helping a business deliver on client expectations. Woods is no exception! Applications were running extremely slowly due to an old server running an out of date operating system. This caused delays in client orders, preparing paperwork and a reduction in productivity. Woods were also at risk of losing some or all of its data due to a failing hard disk. Profits and reputation would be damaged should the hard disk have failed.

Which in this instance involved the upgrade of their server to a new Dell Poweredge model. This offered them both value for money and the flexibility to expand in the future as business needs require. At the same time, their email was migrated from the old on-premise Microsoft Exchange server to cloud-based Office 365. This provided further benefits including cost saving (no up-front costs of a higher specification server) no upgrade issues, reliability, usability and increased security.
The whole upgrade took around two weeks. Steve and the team worked to ensure that the process was seamless, with minimal disruption to Woods’ day to day operations.
